The boot is the mandatory starting stake each player puts in before cards are dealt. It seeds the pot and sets the minimum call amount for that round.

A blind player bets without looking at their cards. They pay half the current stake amount, which gives them a positional edge in later betting rounds.

A sideshow is a private card comparison between two seen players. The player with the weaker hand must fold; the stronger hand stays in the round.

A seen player has looked at their three cards. They must bet at least double the current stake compared to a blind player at the same table.

A trail — also called a set or trio — is three cards of the same rank. It is the strongest hand in Teen Patti, ranking above a pure sequence.

To pack is to fold your hand and exit the current round. You forfeit your stake but stop any further loss; it is the same as folding in other card games.
